Hey All,
I currently have 135 credit hours, which include 36 hours of upper level accounting. I need an additional 15 credit hours, which I understand can be any level, any subject. I was thinking of going back and taking a bunch of only courses with a local community college. If I take some with an Accounting focus, my work will cover the cost of classes. I found 3 online freshmen/sophomore classes that I have not taken:
-Computerized Accounting
-Payroll Accounting
-Income Tax Procedures
I talked to advisor at my University and she said that sometimes the state board will not accept credits for duplicate classes. She mentioned because these classes may be similar to upper level accounting classes, the state board might count these as "duplicate" classes.
Also, there are some "Intro to management" and "Intro to Marketing", both freshmen/sophomore level courses, are available to take as "Clep" tests. I have never taken a freshmen or sophomore level management or marketing class, but I did take "management fundamentals" and "marketing fundamentals" at an upper level at my four year university. They are different course numbers, but I imagine the material is similar.
Any thoughts? Has anyone ever run into this issue?
