Kind of off-topic, but I had the opportunity to meet Gary Bulmash today, who does the AUD portion for Yaeger CPA Review (as well as some of the topics on FAR). He was the speaker today for the Maryland Association of CPA's (AA County) on upcoming/proposed changes for accounting and auditing/attestation, not specifically for the CPA exam but obviously some of this relates.
Anyway, he is an extremely nice guy... talked to him for approximately 15 minutes before the conference began and we discussed the AUD exam a little bit (I used Yaeger in May and ended up with a 97 with only a couple of weeks of study, so I highly recommend him) and the upcoming changes, which he doesn't believe are going to be a huge deal. He did speaks of the clarity project during the discussion, and mentioned that something similar might be coming for SSARS as well. He also mentioned that the PCAOB didn't adopt any of the clarity stuff, so nothing changes on the exam for public companies.
Gary is quite hilarious as well. Maybe the nature of the CPA review course doesn't allow this to come out much, but he has some really good jokes that had everyone cracking up. If you have the opportunity to hear him speak, you should definitely take advantage of it... thanks Gary!
