I saw your thread asking about alternative methods of buying Becker materials and your difficulty stomaching the price. I think the other thread was closed since the alternative methods are illegal..but wanted to address your other point...
I'm a frugal person who can do OK with lectures, but also does fine with books. So I went the Wiley route. Just couldn't justify the price of a lecture series! So, I just wanted to say, the books are fully viable. I have seen people on here who have failed several times with lectures, and then switched to the Wiley books instead of their expensive lecture series! I've passed 2 exams first try and am feeling confident going into my 3rd. My thought has always been that I can fail them all (potentially several times) and still be ahead, financially, of buying the expensive curriculums. The books are dry, so it takes self-discipline to actually read them, but if you do, then they're great.
However, I would cough up the cash to buy the Wiley Test Bank too. Without it, I don't think I would've passed the sections that I have.
